The U.S. Constitution, the Bill of Rights or State of Michigan Constitution do NOT guarantee individuals the right to fly an aircraft. Flying isn’t considered an inalienable right such as the right to freedom of speech or the right to be free from unreasonable search and seizure. Rather, flying is considered a privilege that is earned. And, unlike those inalienable rights, that privilege can be taken away.

Additionally, if Negative Aviation Impacts affect the Health, Safety and Welfare of a person or person(s) such as violating a person or person(s) “Bodily Integrity” can also eliminate the imaginary “Right to Fly” anywhere, anytime for any reason.

There is truly a proven need for a very small percentage of real airports that actually provide real demonstrable transportation needs, real jobs and real tax revenues, many others are simply self-perpetuating hobby, sport, recreational entertainment social venues that enable increased non-essential aircraft, including helicopter take-offs, landings, accidents & crashes, coupled with “disturbing the peace” and “public nuisance” revenge fly-bys intended to harass and intimidate leading to unnecessary:

  • Adverse Health, Safety and Welfare impacts
  • Environmental impacts of toxic pollution & noise pollution
  • Diminished quality of life
  • Wasted taxpayer money

80% of the Massive waste of taxpayer dollars has nothing to do with:

  • Real transportation needs, real jobs or real taxes, real prosperity or the future of anything in the entire US or the State of Michigan! Truly “Flying Junk Piles (FJP)”!
  • Anything remotely to do with ‘Critical Infrastructure’ in any sense of the word.
  • Nothing to do with Global or National Security, Defense, Military Operations or Homeland Security!
  • There are ZERO, absolutely NO Mission Critical functions, ZERO ROI that 80% of these airstrips serve for the taxpayers of US, period.
  • Paltry miniscule Total Addressable Market (TAM) for Leaded 100LL Aviation Fuel coupled with less than passing Aviation Industry concern for over priced high-end or low margin low-end E-AB hobby, sport, recreational aircraft dominated by offshore companies and of little interest to US Manufacturers focusing on Aerospace & Defense markets for growth, stability and future returns. More about Special Interests & Industry Lobbyists that are basically “In Denial” about dying industry segments that nobody cares about any longer and should NOT be propped up by Local, County, State or Federal Government actions. Many other un-subsidized industries are many times larger than the TAM of 100LL Leaded Aviation Fuel & hobby, sport, recreational entertainment social GA aircraft combined! What a joke!
  • ALL these airstrips could instantly disappear and not be missed by anyone except Special Interest + Industry Lobbyists that use them all while laughing & giving taxpayers the middle finger for ‘whining’.
